Free QR code maker with logo: menus, Google reviews and Wi-Fi signs (no sign-up, no expiry)
We've built a free QR code maker with logo support. Type a link, a Wi-Fi network or contact details, add your logo and colours, and download the code as a PNG or SVG. Need one per table? Paste a list and get up to 100 in one ZIP. It runs in your browser, so your links and logo stay on your computer, and there's no sign-up or watermark.
Why some "free" QR codes stop working
Some QR code sites make "dynamic" codes: the code points at the site's own short link, which forwards people to yours. That lets the site count scans, but if the account lapses, the forwarding can stop, and every menu and flyer with that code on it stops working too.
Ours are static codes. Your link is stored in the pattern itself, so there's nothing in the middle to switch off. The trade-off is that you can't change where a printed code points. The easy fix is to point it at a page on your own website, like your menu page, and update that page instead.
Three codes most local businesses need
A menu code. Link to a menu page rather than a PDF if you can: it's easier to read on a phone, and you can change
prices without reprinting. For table numbers, paste yourcafe.com.au/menu?table=1, ?table=2 and so on into the batch
box.
A Google review code. In your Google Business Profile, choose "Ask for reviews" or "Get more reviews" and copy the short link. Put the code on the counter, receipts or takeaway bags. Google doesn't allow offering discounts or freebies in exchange for reviews, so keep the sign to a simple ask.
A Wi-Fi sign. Choose Wi-Fi and enter the network name and password. Recent iPhone and Android cameras offer to join the network when they scan it. Anyone who scans the sign can read the password, so keep guests on a separate network from your EFTPOS terminal and office computers.
Keeping a logo QR code scannable
QR codes carry spare error-correction data. Level L can rebuild about 7% of a damaged code, M about 15%, Q 25% and H 30%. A logo covers part of the code, so when you add one, the tool switches to level H and keeps the logo clear of the corner squares cameras use to find the code. It also warns you when the contrast is too low, when the logo hides more than is safe, or when the white border is too thin.
We tested the downloads with two open-source code readers. Both read square-cornered codes with a logo up to 30% of the code's width. One of them missed every code with rounded corner squares, so the tool starts with square corners and tells you when you've picked a style some scanner apps struggle with. Whatever you choose, scan a test print with two different phones before you print a hundred.
Printing tips
- SVG for print, PNG for screens. SVG stays sharp at any size; PNGs go up to 4096 pixels wide.
- Size: a common rule of thumb is about a tenth of the scanning distance: 2 to 3 cm for a table card, about 20 cm for a sign read from 2 metres away.
- Keep the border. The blank margin around the code helps cameras find it.
Before your menu goes behind a QR code
Since 1 October 2026, Australian businesses can't add a surcharge for paying by eftpos, Mastercard or Visa. When we checked thousands of small-business websites, PDF menus and old menu pages were among the places the old surcharge wording still sat. Before you print a code that points at your menu, run the free surcharge check to see whether any page or PDF menu still mentions one.
The QR encoding uses qrcode-generator by Kazuhiko Arase (MIT licence). The idea came from mini-qr, an open-source GPL-3.0 QR code generator by Estee Tey and contributors; our tool doesn't include its code.
