Card surcharges on eftpos, Mastercard and Visa ended on 1 October 2026 (Reserve Bank of Australia), and Amex, UnionPay and PayPal agreed to stop too (WA Consumer Protection).

Old surcharge notes hide in three places. Card surcharges on eftpos, Mastercard and Visa are gone. Old wording isn't. First, PDF menus. Swap the file on your website, not just the printed one. Then booking and invoice emails, especially the automatic ones. Third, menu photos on Google. An old one can still show the surcharge. Public holiday surcharges are still okay, if they're shown clearly. Check your website free at leymish dot com.
